In global news, the British Pound has plummeted to its lowest level against the US dollar since 1985. The last time Sterling fell to 1.1 $4 was briefly in March 2020, and the Brexit result in 2016. The currency down more than 15% against the dollars and has been hit hard by surging inflation, a looming recession. The Bank of England meets next week, and is expected to hike interest rates by 50 or even 75 basis point.
